Created with only a few items easily found around the house

We were ready for another winter craft today. Something a bit different. I've been doing lots of sensory stuff with my kids at school so I wanted to do a bit of that at home too. So here we have a picture created on tinfoil - which gives a great wintery feel and worked really well to represent water in the river too.
Quick and easy to set up
You will need
Tinfoil, black construction paper, blue paint, stick glue, flour, talc or baking powder
Method:
First we drew the river shape with a blue dot paint stick but you could easily use a brush and paint. We wiped off the excess to leave a blue sheen.
Then we ripped up lots of black paper and glued it on to make trees. This is a great activity to get little ones to work on their fine motor skills.
Finally we used glue sticks all over the paper and dusted flour all over the picture. The great thing about this is that the flour 'snow' can go everywhere on the picture and it makes it look better so no need to control or limit little ones’ movements. The flour stays better where the glue has been applied but the dusting of flour over the whole picture created a lovely snowy scene.
To finish up give the picture a shake to get rid of the excess flour.
