Travelling to different places and landscapes this summer gave us the perfect opportunity to create unique mementos that would remind us of our summer and the fun that we have had.

N.B. This post is NOT sponsored. I do actually just love this paper! You can buy it here if you'd like to give it a try!

We just got back from a couple of weeks in Scotland; my home country. Neither of my kids were born in Scotland and so it's always great to be able to show them where I grew up and share the things that my husband and I took for granted when we were young - like green space, fresh air, clean streets and having our own garden!

Since we are also doing a road trip around California this summer, I decided it would be fun to make memories along the way using Nature Print Paper. Part 2 of this series will show what we made in California.

Part 1 - Scotland

Scottish Thistle

Because how could you not start with a thistle?!

A trip to North Berwick beach

This seaside town near Edinburgh is fantastic. I appreciated it even more having been on New York's beaches a lot this summer. Whilst there is nothing wrong with New York's beaches, North Berwick is so pretty and quaint. We ate lobster by the harbour, searched for critters in rock pools and the kids even splashed in the cold North Sea water. These are some of the things that we picked up that day on the beach - plus a claw from our delicious lobster lunch!

Nana's Pebble Garden

I was so surprised how beautiful this turned out. My three year old wanted to just use stones. I didn't think it would make a great picture and I was wrong. Goes to show that kids know more than us sometimes!

Granny's Garden

Granny has a beautiful pond and stream as the main feature in her garden. Around the side of the stream are ferns. These came out really beautifully. We have framed this one and the pebbles from Nana's garden and hung them on the wall!

Dill from granny's garden.

Since we got home we have also been a little addicted and so we looked around the house for interesting things that we might be able to use to 'print'.

Glasses

Air Plants

Sunflowers that we planted a couple of months ago and that didn't survive our trip away

My son's favorite toys of the day

Part two of the Nature Print Paper series post will be posted early September when we get back from California so check back then or follow my social media channels for updates!
