A quick and easy craft to keep you cool on the remaining hot days of summer!

I went to Michael's in NYC the other day to stock up on craft supplies. I managed to go without the kids and it was great browsing through everything. Am I the only one who almost takes up ten new craft disciplines every time they visit a craft store?! I managed to keep myself in check and only bought a few things, including the Martha Stewart paper book pictured below. Its beautiful! Each colour of card has a different tone of the same colour on the reverse side. I was inspired by the pink card which I used in this craft to do outer leaves in the pale shade and inner leaves in the dark shade.

I cut petal and leaf shapes, making the leaves and the outer petals larger than the inner petal colour.

I punched a hole through each of the petals and leaves.

Attach together using a paper fastener.

Pinch the top points of the leaves and petals as shown.
Cut a strip of paper and cut into it using scissors. Roll the strip of paper round a pen to make it circular and glue with strong glue around the pin. Press it outwards slightly so it's not pointing straight up. Glue a craft stick onto the back.

You can tie a ribbon around the craft stick base or do what I did and tie a strip of paper around and glue in place. All done!
