Thumb Wars! Thumb wrestling is a great way to keep kids busy when travelling or eating out

Add in these funny sticker faces to create a bit of interest and encourage kids to give it a go!

Thumb wrestling is a game that was supposedly invented in the 1940s. A simple game created in times before iPads and computer games. A game that you can play anytime and anywhere as long as you have an opponent. Isn't that the perfect game to keep in mind when the kids are in the back of the car fighting and asking how long until you get there? When you're on a flight and the stickers, colouring books and whatever else you brought along no longer satisfy? With these stickers, you can pre-make them and keep them in your purse ready for whenever you need them. Giving kids the choice of a funny face to stick to their thumb engages them a little more than the original game.

How to play:

Start by both players chanting the rhyme 'one, two, three, four. I declare a thumb war!' The object of the game is to hold down your opponent's thumb for three seconds. Grasp your opponent's fingers (see above photo), leaving your thumbs free at the top. Begin the wrestle as soon as you and your opponent have finished saying the chant. Whoever succeeds in holding down their opponent's thumb is the winner though you can play the best of three games etc if you want to extend the game. This can be a fun game for kids and adults to play together. Adding sticky faces is not at all essential but is fun!
