Know a child who needs encouragement to keep trying and not give up?

Make them an origami daruma wishing doll - or make one together (they're very, very easy to make)


These are super easy, super cute and will encourage your child to find the Japanese spirit of 'ganbarre' which means to try your best.


Here are the basic steps below:





Once you have made the daruma, the person with the wish or goal draws the face on, leaving one eye missing. When the goal is achieved, they draw the other eye on. Such a lovely idea and if you put the doll somewhere visible in the home, it can serve as a visual reminder of the goal and to keep trying!
