All you need is pasta, cord, a few beads, some pretty paper or washi tape and glue

This was a great Sunday morning craft! We used Japanese origami paper and also washi tape (washi means Japanese paper but I don't think my washi tape has ever been near Japan - it's basically just pattered tape). The plain paper actually worked better than the washi tape. We just cut it to size, rolled the pasta up and tucked it in if the paper was too wide, painted generously with glue and waited for it to dry (about 20 minutes). We then threaded the pasta onto cord and voila! The easiest and prettiest necklace perfect for Mothers Day! My 3 year old and 4 year old did this independently so its a great craft if you want to give a gift that was actually made by your child.
