This week, the kids have been at home on Spring Break so we have played a couple of new games. Both have gone down very well!

Silly String Fun!

The most fun a child can possibly have?!

This was very simple and a lot of fun. I started off by doing the basic drill of the new words we were learning. Then, I stuck the words on the wall and gave the can of silly string to my four year old. When I said the word, he had to shoot it with the silly string. He loved this sooooo much! Ideally we might have had more than one can...

Teaching using rock, paper, scissors

Remember the game rock, paper scissors? Well this game uses that AND teaches words (or letters!). Teach the words first as above. Lay the words out on the floor in a line. Your kid starts at one end and you start at the other. Say 'ready, steady, go!' and walk down the line of words saying them as you go. When you meet in the middle do rock, paper, scissors. Whoever wins gets to continue from that point and the loser goes back to the beginning. The first person to reach the end of the line wins. This game is hugely popular with my kids.

Try these games to teach ABC, 'red words', foreign words... Enjoy!
