Teaching Sentence Construction Using Rainbows

Most five and six year olds understand the order of a rainbow's colors, give or take the odd mistake. This game uses that knowledge to help them make sentences.

I laid the rainbows out for my son as shown in the picture so that he understood the concept of the activity and then I mixed each rainbow up and asked him to put it into order it for me and then read the sentence out loud. If you want to make the activity even harder, you could mix all three sentences together before doing the activity. Since this was the first time my son had done this, I gave him each sentence one by one.
