Using Train Tracks To Make Sentences

This was so much fun and very easy and quick to set up.

Building on the 'red words' that we have been teaching my son to read, I wanted to check his understanding of the words and to give him a chance to practice reading a bit more.

I set up the game like this, making the tracks slightly raised so that the cars would roll down to the parking place. I gave a car for each word. The idea is to read the word first. Then choose the correct sentence and put it in place (thus completing the track and enabling the car to park into the parking spot.

The game was a huge success. Definitely something you could do again and again.
